£5.00United Kingdom

seems like a reasonable price for the music with out any of the middle men taking their cut, and without having to pay for the media - non of this "it cost the same regardless of if you end up with a shiney disk and pretty art work" rubish!

just under what a normal album costs here in canada, and more than happy to pay it straight to a fantastic band that has kept its integrity intact. props!

I understand that Radiohead gave the option to pay nothing, but it's a matter of respect to give at least a little bit. It's not free to record, set up websites, and purchase bandwidth. It is ridiculous to call the discbox exorbitantly priced; it actually contains physical material which must be produced, and one could expect to pay more in a typical market situation for such extensive material.

Approximately 1 USD / track. A fair price.

I paid about $10 US to preorder the download of the album, which is at or a little above the going rate for DRM-enabled music files on most online stores. Bravo to Radiohead for this move; it takes a set of brass balls. It's great to be able to give money to the band instead of having their record company take 90% of the profit.

I chose 4.40 because it is about US$9.00, which I think is a fair price for any downloadable music. This seems like a very good deal for Radiohead since they are not tied to a label and should get most of the money. $9.00 is the target price I would like to see for 256k DRM-free albums in iTunes.

The band has never ripped off its fans, in recorded quality or live performance. It's time to return that favor.

i originally put £5 but it took me 6 times to get the website to accept my order (maybe it was just too busy) and by the end i put less out of annoyance.

i love radiohead, and knowing that the majority of these quid are going to support the band... not the label, makes me extremely giddy with delight. long live radiohead :)

My logic was that I felt I had pay something in order to preserve the potential for other bands in the future to consider this method. Too many "freebies" just might kill this opportunity in the future. As for my specific price, I felt the band could do better than itunes pricing for me being in Canada. Subjected to our dollar and standard of living.

Wouldn't this be easier and/or a lot less interesting if we could pay after hearing the album?

Superb idea by Radiohead.

I would pay more if the download was lossless quality (e.g.: FLAC); I might buy the CD if I really like the album.

Radiohead may not need my money, but I see it as the best way to show the labels that we like being given a choice, and are prepared to pay a fair price for music.
