£3.50 | United Kingdom | I'd like to buy the CD when it comes out or at least get 256kps MP3s. 160 DRM-free is ok for now, so with the further purchase in mind, I opted for a lower amount. If I am quite taken with the album and the quality I may buy it again to up the amount I paid, but I've always been wary of buying downloads anyway. At least if you get sick of a CD you can sell it in, with downloads your only recourse is DELETE. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Yes |
£3.50 | United Kingdom | Didn't like their last two albums, wouldn't have bought this one if it hadn't been choose-your-own-price. Discbox?: No CD?: Not Answered* |
£3.55 | United Kingdom | I decided on £3.55 (£4 total) because I'm going to either get the CD or the diskbox. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£3.69 | United Kingdom | i'm buying the full £40 cd set in december, so don't hate me for paying them a measley £3. Discbox?: Yes CD?: Not Answered* |
£4.00 | United Kingdom | Wouldn't this be easier and/or a lot less interesting if we could pay after hearing the album? Discbox?: No CD?: Not Answered* |
£4.00 | United Kingdom | Superb idea by Radiohead. I would pay more if the download was lossless quality (e.g.: FLAC); I might buy the CD if I really like the album. Radiohead may not need my money, but I see it as the best way to show the labels that we like being given a choice, and are prepared to pay a fair price for music. Discbox?: No CD?: Undecided |
£4.37 | United Kingdom | its what a compressed version is worth ... maybe Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£4.45 | United Kingdom | Great idea dirrect to the band!!! Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I Like Radiohead a lot Discbox?: No CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | The first Radiohead I intend to buy. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I'd be happy to add to my contribution once I heard it - as long as it isn't the atonal meanderings of recent releases. Perhaps there should be an option to give more after hearing it, or maybe less. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | Slightly cheaper than Itunes. lots cheaper than shops, a more than fair price I'd say for the band given they may only around £1.50 per album from EMI. Discbox?: No CD?: Undecided |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I think this is a fair price for a album that has no physical form and minimal distribution costs - there will alway be wankers that pay nothing but I hope the average price that emerges will be used as a benchmark to online pricing in the future, this will be a more realistic way of combatting illegal file sharing Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I'd pay the going rate for it...as long as it is not full of tracks like Pulk/Pull revolving doors. I've always loved Radiohead's artwork - but i'm not sure i'd want to spend 40 quid on a discbox so it can sit around getting dusty! Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | shouldve paid 4.... Discbox?: No CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I think its a fantastic idea, the notion of an honesty box for a potentially free download. I think a fiver is a fair price for this experiment. I wish Radiohead every luck with it. Interesting what chart placing it will get - is it qualifies (?), and also what chart placing the cd will get when it gets released next year. £5.00 | United Kingdom | Based on the last 3 (I have to say below par) albums... I think £5 is fair. If I was basing it on 'The Bends' and 'OK Computer' I would have paid £20 because they are the two best albums ever recorded! Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | Worth it. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Yes |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | worth every penny Discbox?: No CD?: Undecided |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | Well impressed. I feel like a cheap bastard for only putting down a fiver for it. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Undecided |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | it was a great idea, I hope more follow suit Discbox?: No CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I paid £5. This is because a download would normally cost about £8. The artist, at the very maximum would receive £2 (probably a lot less). By paying £5 directly to the artist, I have saved £3 and the artist has gained £3 which to my mind seems fair and equitable. Here, Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Not Answered* |
£5.00 | United Kingdom | I think it's a very smart move - Radiohead have taken a huge moral high ground but have also given their fans the opportunity to do the same. I spent ages trying to decide the appropriate amount. I have no doubts it will work very well for them. They'll make a lot of money and there are no distributors/middlemen involved. It's much easier for them as they have nothing to lose and a huge international fan-base. How does this approach help the brand-new act with no fan-base and no money to record their first tracks? I like to pay around 5 pounds for CD. I chose 3 pounds for this because I'm not getting the physical product and am going to buy the CD when it comes out anyway.
