£0.00 | United States | I paid 0.00 because I don't have a credit card to pay for it online, and I plan on buying a hard copy when it's released. Discbox?: Undecided CD?: Yes |
£0.00 | United Kingdom | Great idea. This has generated a huge hype around the release and got the product out to fans in the quickest way possible. Not that Radiohead needed to create a hype but it will promote their music to the masses who still misguidedly see their direction since ok computer as something like suicide music. I justify my £0 purchase with the knowledge that i will be buying a ticket to see them when they innevitably tour next year - and probably for £30. Like with Prince's album give away earlier this year, Radiohead's album release is a loss leader for the band as they will make more from me from the tour. Not many bands could get away with this album release model. Radiohead can for a few reasons: a) they're Radiohead and have a huge fan base who will sell out their world tour, and maybe even buy the £40 set; b) they are the first band to do this and the hype of these types of releases will wear off quickly - but for now the press will attract new fans to get back into radiohead/hear them for the first time for free and guilt free. It's also another blow and slap in the face for the music labels who have been far too short sighted with digital music - in terms of delivery method, format and price point. in answer to their claim that free music devalues music across the board - just wait to see how much radiohead charge for their gigs, how many people buy tickets and in how many countries. Can't wait to hear it. Discbox?: No CD?: Not Answered* |

£0.00 | United States | Paid nothing for the download, but I'm buying a share of the discbox with a friend (because he's willing to give me the bonus disc in the deal), and I will buy the physical album once they release it, Day One. Discbox?: Yes CD?: Not Answered* |
£0.00 | Germany | I want a physical product, but the discbox has too much, I don't want vinyl, and it's too expensive. I'll buy the CD if I like the download. Had I been able to buy a CD, I would have paid for it without hearing it. Discbox?: No CD?: Undecided |
£0.00 | United Kingdom | I chose to pay nothing. I reserve the right to hear the album before paying out 40 quid for the discbox. £40 buys four other albums, give or take, and let's face it, Hail To The Thief was their weakest album to date so who knows, the new one could be iffy as well... £0.00 | New Zealand | I don't have a credit card, so paying anything more than nothing for me was impossible. If it was, I would have paid a couple of dollars for it, then picked up a hardcopy when it came out, which I still intend to do, whenever it eventually gets released.
